Cruisin' for Car Shows in Lincoln City

Find your favorite classics from the 1990's and earlier at this day of fun, hosted by the Lincoln City Cultural Center.  Pre-registration is now open for those who would like to participate in the "Old School Classic Car Show."  Burgers, hot dogs, and kettle corn are on the menu and Rusty Truck beers will be on tap in the beer garden. Pirates and Mysteries and Treasure, Oh My!

Ahoy Matey!  Are ye thinking yer summer could benefit from some excitement?  The good folks of Depoe Bay have a solution in the Annual Pirate Treasure Hunt on August 16, 2014.

Gather yer crew of 4 swabs, register and get ready for fun!  The first half of the day will find yer crew completing fun challenges and useful tasks that will help ye solve the mystery that takes place in the streets later on in the day!  Keep yer eyes peeled for anything or anyone important!

If yer looking to extend your piratical entertainment, a no host bar opens at 5:30 pm followed by an optional dinner at 6pm.

The Annual Siletz Bay Sandcastle Contest

August 9, 2014 will find the historic Taft district bursting with the creative energy of The Annual Siletz Bay Sandcastle Contest.

One can of food per contestant will "pay" for registration, which starts at noon.  After registration, contestants may begin constructing their sandy marvel while onlookers enjoy the action.

Want to build something other than a castle?  Never Fear! Each individual or team is allowed to choose the subject matter of their sand sculpture - just bear in mind this is a family friendly event.

The judges will evaluate the afternoon's results between 3 and 4 pm with an award ceremony to follow, where prizes will be awarded.

Lincoln City's August Events


August brings a number of special events to Lincoln City including sandcastles, pirates, classic cars and books.  It's a great time of the year to enjoy the Oregon coast! Here's a sampling of what's in store:

Siletz Bay Sandcastle Contest
August 9, 2014
The Historic Taft District of Lincoln City 

Craft your own sand sculpture or watch the creativity flourish as the contestants build their creations! Registration takes place beginning at noon on the dock at 51st street.  Please bring at least a can of food as an entry fee.  Judging takes place from 3 to 4pm.  Happy building!  


August 16, 2014
Depoe Bay

Spend the day solving a mystery and collecting clues amidst Depoe Bay's local pirates!  Registration begins at 8:30am.  $50 per team.

Run, Walk, or Dribble at the Beach this July

Participants and spectators alike are encouraged to enjoy the sports events in Lincoln City including the Ocean's Edge 5K and Hoops at the Beach!  July is shaping up to be a fun month!

Hoop it Up, the original 3 on 3 national grassroots street ball tour with 25 years of history, is coming to Lincoln City. With brackets for all ages, this 3 on 3 basket ball tournament at the Tanger Outlet Center is sure to be a hit with basket ball players of all stripes.  Each team is guaranteed three games and prizes will be awarded for the 1st and 2nd place teams in each division.  And yes, there are shooting contests for players and spectators!
